adidas Originals presents the ZX Flux Women’s Weave Pack, an eye-catching execution using a one-piece woven upper that is both lightweight and more sustainable than the usual manufacturing techniques.

Going back to basics, the shoe has a deconstructed feel to it; both simplistic and complex at the same time featuring a contrast patterned lining. Drawing on its running heritage, the ZX Flux utilises the ZX tooling and heel cage, but still evokes a feminine look and feel with its lighter colour combinations and slim, refined silhouette.

The 3-Stripes is incorporated in the weave in a complementary, yet striking way, whilst pops of contrast colour peep out from the tongue on the label.

ZX Flux is now available at adidas Originals stores in Canal Walk and V&A Waterfront (Cape Town), Menlyn Park Shopping Centre (Pretoria) as well as at select Stuttafords, Sportscene, Studio88, Smith and Abrahams, X Trend, Soho and a store is good stores.
As part of an adidas Originals ZX Flux Future Collectors three-part series, Anthony Bila ( The Expressionist), Johan Venter ( Women Who Kill) and Wandile Msomi ( Funisa Skateboards) shared their stories; telling where they came from, what has brought them this far, what will propel them further, and what makes them future collectors.

adidas Originals chose to cast a spotlight on three Johannesburg-based influencers; all from different backgrounds. Chosen for their unique point of view and determination to making a name for themselves, these individuals truly exemplify what is to be an original.

Daring to say the least, the adidas Originals ZX Flux Women’s Print Pack is full of intense, photo-real colour, which is achieved by digitally printing the upper to vividly capture it on satin.

Leopard print is always a favourite, and is offered with bold berry pink accents on the 3-Stripes, while a contemporary rush of watercolour print is anchored by black 3-Stripes and heel cage, with a white tooling.

Minimal, smooth lines against gutsy prints, the ZX Flux Women’s Print Pack is full of delightful contradictions.

In the last of three short films, local skateboarder and entrepreneur Wandile Msomi shares his story and what he hopes to achieve, as well as how the adidas Originals ZX Flux fits into his world.
Further proving the versatility of the adidas Originals ZX Flux canvas is the reflective snake print pack, which manages to incorporate a number of out-there features on one shoe.

While snakeskin print is not a new thing for adidas – they famously used it on the Superstar and Americana trainers – the technique to create a reptilian effect on this model is an interesting one. The ZX Flux upper features three layers: a synthetic base, reflective print on top, and finally a mesh overlay, which gives it a slightly muted yet texturised feel.

Neon pop details can be seen throughout, on the distinctive heel cage, sock-liner and embroidered tongue tag, while the laces complement the snake print perfectly.

A technical feel comes across in the adidas Originals ZX Flux Base Pack; attributed to its two-tone mesh upper and welded TPU 3-Stripes execution.

While the stripped back style feels like a shoe of today, the colour blocking on the midsole harks back to the ZX 8000 trainer on which the ZX Flux is based. This is the first time the iconic blocking joins the rollout of the ZX Flux series, and it is sure not to be the last.

A simple colour palette is used throughout the Base Pack for FW14, with the option of a bright red Poppy colourway or a cobalt blue also known as the Satellite colourway; on a black and white midsole.
